Your argument is stupid because Sony was not the reason updates took long with xperia s it was qualcomms fault and since I got my xperia I’ve had some sort of update every 6 weeks. There are other manufacturers that had the same chipset that didn’t do updates like the one your getting right now. I wont need to complain about not getting updates because Sony has streamlined the entire process so they get updates out quickly and efficiently. The simple fact that an xperia released 18 months ago is getting an update shows how sony have progressed not to mention that every sony ericsson flagshipped I’ve owned in the past had continuous updates.

Built with Typeform, the FREE online form builder that lets you create beautiful, mobile-friendly online forms, surveys & much more. Try it out now! It has been just a few hours since we saw Sony officially rolling out the major bug fixing update 6.2.B.1.96 firmware over previous jelly bean 6.2.B.0.211 firmware.

Well It was not my intention to harp on continuously about the xperia Z and I wouldn’t have to, had you not responded to my post so it was either be rude and not respond or give you an appropriate response. Just because I have an xperia Z doesn’t mean I look down on xperia s owners. Most of them are clearly on 2 year contracts so are due for an upgrade any way and when they got their xperia s’s I still had an xperia x10. Where I live the xperia x10, S and Z have all been expensive flagships retailing for roughly the same price each year so the only difference between me and xperia owners is we upgrade at different cycles.

I buy all my phones cash brand new just after launch and I usually wait 2-3 years depending on my finances at the time to purchase my new phone. So you see just because I’m rocking an Xperia Z doesn’t mean I’m rich my financial status is probably on par with those same people you claim cant afford one the difference is I plan ahead and save. I think I’ve said enough as we’ve digressed to far off topic. I now hes trolling but why do it on a fan blog?

We dont see that kind of people on sonyalpha blog these kind of people were never here even few months back but since sony is becoming better and better now we see more trolls on this blog complaining about nothing! We need critisism but we need to take them to sony on their forum and twitter. Crying on a blog about fixing things no going to help.

People always complain on blog but they dont understand we dont work for sony and we need to let sony know on offcial palces about things that need to be fixed! Very happy about this update:) All in all everything seems to be smoother and the apps start much quicker. I guess they improved the RAM consumption in general with this update.

Fixed: – 2G bug seems to be fixed – 1080p mode bug fixed – walkman app doesn’t stutter any more – wrong “stamina mode” warning has been corrected – white balance mode in camera has been added unsure: – wifi and nfc issues (I can’t tell, as I didn’t experience problems like other users, worked fine for me) – lagging while taking pictures in clubs at night in “night shot” or “party mode”. Will test it later tonight – extended battery life. Seems to have improved, but I didn’t test it for more than one full battery load so far. New features: – long hold of home button google now – double tap home button recent apps/small apps still missing: – myxperia security features (beta is over a long time ago). It was easier to wait months for this update then it’s being to wait a few hours since it was announced it was out!! Btw, it makes many, many time I checked this blog every day, but never commented on it before today, I wonder how many more XS users did the same, after all this Xperia S madness ends I wonder what will be of this blog, lets hope the XZ users have the same problems to keep this blog alive! Wait Wait WAIT.

I was just kidding, I hope all the best to our good friends who own other Xperia phones! Please don’t Interkill me. Let them complain let them troll. It doesn’t kill you right? I have bunch of friends and relatives that uses samsung and know what they said, they said “sony sucks bla bla bla” and as they keep saying shit, I dip my phone to water and say, “can your plastic do this?” and they were speechless people has their own opinion and that’s unchangeable. Curse as much as you can, you still can’t change people’s opinion. The thing is, you have to open your mind, accept people’s thought and try to take the positive side.

Don’t just spurts with swearing words. Show them that they’re wrong, not by swearing but some killing facts. Xperia S LT26i Gets Android 4.1.2 (6.2.B.1.96) with Major Fixes How to Install Sony has released Android 4.1.2 update with base firmware 6.2.B.1.96 for the Xperia S Sony has released another software update with base firmware, 6.2.B.1.96 for the Xperia S (LT26i). The update is based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and is a major update, which fixes all the bug issues spotted in the previous firmware version 6.2.B.0.211.

The update is currently rolling out in several Nordic countries, Sweden, India, Brazil, Taiwan and Spain. Android 4.1.2 update released for Xperia S. I also don’t have an update yet, and my device was from Hong Kong. However, I saw a comment below that a HK Acro S user could download the latest firmware. Don’t buy a smartphone in Hong Kong! Some manufacturers do not release the upgrade in Hong Kong but in other countries (or release so late), because they want Hong Kong people to buy new phones and they just want to sell newest phones while ignoring after-sale service. Sony Mobile HK used not to do this, but some SP, L users began to report to the company they couldn’t get the bug fix while other countries can.

These companies are irresponsible! So, I worry that this will also apply to Xperia S, as I wait for more than two years after rolling out, and seldom heard HK users can notice the update.

6.2.b.1.96

After the call is ended the bottom button light stays ON while the screen goes off this happend approx every time i attended a call first time noticed when i was in a dark room 2. Wifi Connectivity has to be switched ON and OFF 3. Smart Connect doesnt work properly now my SBH20 doesnt connect quickly and have to manually remove and add it again 4. Equalizer is a shit if you turn it ON then dynamically the volume reduces and increases even if Dynamic Normalization is OFF 5. Battery performance has decreased than before Antutu rating also reduced on a clean wipped fone – Sony Xperia acro S any similar issues please comment and have it also forwarded to lazy ‘SONY Team’.

“hold home Google Now, tap twice recent apps” This sucks so MUCH! Why would you change something that was perfect before to totally crappy. Hate having to tap twice on the invisible buttons on xperia S, was so nice to hold button, and i’ve got another shortcut for Google now, which i barely use!!! Why not give us the options to decide how the buttons function instead of this crap? I would also like to be able to pull up a keyboard by holding the right button, and that hasn’t been possible since before ICS!!!! The update is great and all, but there is one problem I’m struggling with; and that is the way the phone updates the time when turning on the display after a while. If the phone showed 12:51p.m and I return 20 minutes later to check the time again, the time will still stay at 12:51p.m for a split second before changing itself to 1:11 p.m.

Its kind disturbing especially when I just woke up at 8:00 a.m to check the time and it suddenly says 12:00 a.m (where I might mistake it for 12:00 p.m, senses are not very good when I’m not a morning person) before changing to 8:00 a.m. Since I’m still studying. Makes me hype which is what I’m not looking forward to first thing in the morning.

The lights for the home and back button have remained lit whenever I end a call. I noticed this when i was in a dark room I have to unlock and lock the fone again to turn that OFF SD-Card stops suddenly while playing music, this happens randomly after listening to music for some time.

Sony Mobile has just released a full list of improvements that the recent 6.2.B.1.96 firmware update brought to the Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia acro S. The update brought some significant improvements over the earlier Android 4.1.2 build, including performance and stability enhancements. See the full list of changes below. For camera, we’ve addressed an abnormality in the white balance improved the “Quick Launch” button functionality smoothed out (1080p) video recording, minimizing lag For apps, services & data, we’ve streamlined Exchange Active Sync, particularly when running an encrypted set-up boosted connection stability for 2G network data ensured preferences on 3rd party apps remain after reboot – not a common problem, but we understand it can be a frustrating one!

For battery, we’ve economised power consumption, and heat dispersion for longer life corrected juice level notifications, especially when running low And for hardware & UI, we’ve introduced a home key long-press to launch Google Now, and a double-press to launch Recent Apps made sure the volume “up” button is fully responsive Via. Thanks Silas!

Not about the Xperia S but I hope they release a new firmware for the Go. I am having a problem with the clock not syncing right away so for example I would look at my phone at 12.30 and pick it up about 5.30 and it would still say something like 12.30 and then it would take a while to display the proper time. I recently had to factory restore my phone after something caused every app/system app to not respond making the phone useless. This problem existed before that and still exist now even though my phone is practically in factory condition now. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? 1st bug: Let the screen turn-off, either by each-self or by pressing the power button. Let a few minutes pass (important).

Harga Xperia Sl

Press the power button, in order to unlock the screen. You’ll see for about a second, a black lock-screen with a clock that shows the time when the screen turned off. After that, the lock-screen picture appears (either the theme’s one or the user defined one), and the clock with the correct current time. In simple words, it seems like there’s a lag in loading the lockscreen and its clock. Does this happen to any of you with the stock 6.2.B.1.96 (no root).

Please give a reply so we can see whether is indeed a firmware bug or it only happens to me. Hhi, im from malaysia. Im having a problem about this new update. I have downloaded it more than 2 hours for 3 times but it didnt complete yet. Kind of stuck “preparing computer for update software”.

Is it because of my laptop or something is wrong? And why there is no notification about new update at my phone even though i have refreshed it so many times? I only know about this update when i used laptop to charge my phone.can somebody explain to me. Im not so good with all these things. Help me please. Almost a week in after I updated my Acro S (previously JB.211): – It seems RAM management is somehow better.

– Most of connectivity (2G, WiFi) bugs have been fixed. – Full HD recording lag has been fixed.

– Stamina Mode false warning/low battery alert fixed. – Quick Launch improvement. – White light, camera flash exposure fixed.

– Long-press Home for Google Now, double-tap for Task Manager. – Volume up fixed. I’ve gotten over the Google Now inconvenience and everything works hella great now. I’m happy enough to keep my Acro S for some time longer for now. But I’ve noticed a frustratingly drastic increase in power usage causing a very huge battery drain. Maybe it’s just me but I haven’t changed my usage habits (which usually lasts around 12 hours, now 6-8 hours). This update cleared all bugs from previous versions.

Awesome work on it SONY. But i would love to know whether you plan on giving us any further upgrades like 4.3 or 4.4 may be. It seems a bit stupid question that its highly unlikely you would support Snapdragon S3 devices, but if u do, u will definitely make a lot of people happier and more people would choose to buy a SONY product.

And surely you must know that our device is perfectly capable of running a few more generations of Android versions. I know the hardware limits some features not to work on our product, but atleast we can get an OS that works fine for being a daily driver and i think all the basic daily used features will be covered.

Menu key function and Keyboard Lag (I have only recently updated by Xperia S to this version) Problem 1: The change to menu key is very annoying. One builds up a habit to holding the menu key to view recent apps. Firstly, this habit must now be changed through the annoyance of waiting several seconds for Google Now to start and then to exit it. Secondly, a quick double tap of the menu key is not always registered by the phone especially when a lot is going on. This in frustratingly tapping the menu button several times.

Recommendation: Allow the option to change what tapping and double tapping these keys will do. Problem 2: I specifically did not update for fear of slowing down my phone. While the overall speed remains quite good, the typing responsiveness has greatly decreased.

The time it takes for the phone to register keystrokes is often several seconds slow. Please fix these problems, Ted.
