Hello imxuf, The installed copy of Office is a nongenuine volume licensing installation of Office Professional 2003. It is NOT an OEM license for Office Professional 2003.

Does your installation CD have 'For distribution with a new PC only. For product support, contact the manufacturer of the computer.' Or words to that effect printed in the hologram of the CD? Do you have genuine Certificate of Authenticity for an OEM copy of Office Professional 2003?

Or, does the CD have a medium blue silkscreen overlay between the 11 o clock and 4 oclock positions of the disc, and does it have 'Applications Microsoft Office Family' and 'Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003' and 'Volume License Product Key required' printed on the blue solkscreen overlay? For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp. The CD is closer to option 1: - It has the 'For distribution.' Verbiage imprinted in the hologram - I'm not sure about the Cert of Authenticity; I purchased this product many years ago and only started having trouble when I re-installed a couple of weeks ago. I have included links to images of the CD, and the sleeve: CD: Sleeve Front: Sleeve Back: Also in the album are pictures of the inside sleeve, etc. Regards, Mark. Hello imxuf, Your materials certainly want to look like an OEM CD, CD sleeve, and OEM CoA.

Download and run the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder to determine the product key that is applied to this installation. Compare to the product key printed on the CoA. Are they the same or different (don't post the product key)? Check the CD closely-is the hologram embedded within the plastic of the CD or is it a thin label affixed to the top of the CD? Locate the setup.ini file in this folder drive letter: files setup Please copy/paste the contents of this file into your response. Well, it's Bad News and Good News. Bad-yeah, counterfeit is bad:-( Good-Microsoft will replace it for free:-), and the complimentary replacement is a retail copy of Office Professional 2007. Click on the Learn More Online link in the nongenuine notice and look for the Complimentary Replacement links, I think they are on the right side of the page. You fill out a report, send in your materials, and in 4-6 weeks if you do indeed have high quality counterfeits, you get your replacement. Please come back here when you get your replacements to tell how how long it took.:-) For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp.

I reformatted my harddrive recently, and looked to put my Office 2003 Professional back on, and I can't find my product key. I called the Microsoft support and they confirmed my disks are genuine MS products, but they could not offer me my code, or give me a new one because of a 'volume licensing' issue.

They directed me to another number to get this product key generated for me. Called there, and they said they can't offer me the product key because it's something that Microsoft doesn't sell anymore? Guy on the phone when I first called said I need to be at the computer, verify the disks, and pay $10 re-licensing fee (which im 100% OK with). I just don't want to go out and spend a hundred dollars or more on a product I already have sitting here on my desk.

Any solutions to this problem? Hello drew112685, The mgadiag report is showing that there is no Office installation on your HP computer. OGA Data- Office Status: 109 N/A OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1 From your description it it evident that you have Voume Licensing discs. However, if you do not have a Volume License for Office issued under a current and valid Volume Licensing Agreement, then you have no usage rights to the software contained on the discs. Look on the discs themselves-does it not have wording similar to 'All use subject to Volume Licensing Agreement,' 'Illegal without separate license from Microsoft,' and similar phrasing?
